Western States Fire Protection Company is in the process of installing wet pipe and dry pipe fire sprinkler systems in the Union Plaza Towers in Denver, Colorado. APi Systems Group, Inc. installed a fire alarm system for the Union Plaza Towers.

The Union Plaza is a $115 million development project located southeast of Denver. The project consists of a 23-story condominium tower with a neighboring seven-story office building at the southeast corner of East Union Avenue and South Ulster Street.

The Union Plaza is like a city within a city. The builders of the Union Plaza, Simpson Housing, are attempting to create an urban village in a suburban area. The Union Plaza will have all of the benefits of downtown living. It is an alternative for buyers who want convenience without the bustle of downtown.

The Union Plaza Towers have 12,000 sprinkler heads and over 50 miles of fire protection piping. The project also has a diesel fire pump that supplies the fire sprinkler system with water.

Both buildings are constructed over a three-story, 900 space underground parking garage which includes 27,000 square feet of combined first floor retail space. There is 400,000 square feet of parking in the 3 level parking garage which contains 4,000 sprinklers on 12 dry systems with automatic dry standpipes.

The Union Plaza has over 136,000 square feet of rentable office space with 18,000 square foot floors suitable for one or multiple tenants. The office space has 1,500 sprinklers on 8 wet systems.

The residential tower includes 264 units ranging from small studios to large two-level penthouses. The residential tower has 6,500 sprinklers on 24 wet systems.
